The Auxiliary of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago's 10th Annual Coat Drive for patients of the Angel Harvey Family Health Center was a huge success!!
Due to COVID, our Annual Coat Drive had a completely different look and schedule this year. Volunteers sorted coats on days when the Clinic was closed. Clinic staff distributed coats to families in need following each of the two sorting days. Distribution will continue until all of the coats have new homes.
This year's Coat Drive, in conjunction with CD One Price Cleaners, has enabled the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago with its nine auxiliary chapters, to give approximately 1,961 children's, women's, and men's coats to patients of the Angel Harvey Family Health Center in Chicago! Generous donations of our members and friends enabled us to distribute 518 new coats and hundreds of new hats, gloves, and mittens. In addition, 1,443 gently used coats were collected, cleaned, and delivered to the Clinic by CD One Price Cleaners. A very BIG thank you, CD One Price Cleaners, for helping us give the gift of warmth to so many deserving families.
Our own Wheaton-Naperville Infant Welfare chapter collected 192 of the 578 total of new coats donated. Additionally, many hand-knit hats, scarves, and baby toys, as well 18 beautiful hand-made quilts, were made by the St. Paul Lutheran Church's Sewing Group in Wheaton. Your talent, time, and devotion are so greatly appreciated! Thanks to Nancy Carlson for coordinating this effort.
This is the 10th year that CD One Price Cleaners has been an amazing partner in our annual coat drive. Check out CD One Price Cleaners to find a location near you.
